Just in case there was any doubt, Cher has proved that she is still a diva to be reckoned with. Before appearing at The Prostate Cancer Foundation's fundraising dinner in New York, the superstar specifically asked that the in-demand Floralia Decorators be hired to transform the Waldorf Astoria's ballroom into a rhapsody in red.
Tables featured expensive red-velvet linens and rare scarlet orchids. "There had to be red chairs, cushions, even red floating candles," says a source. "In the end, the room looked unbelievable."
But beauty comes at a price. One insider estimated that the presentation "had to cost at least $50,000." Cher, however, knows it takes money to make money: The event raised over $5.5 million for the charity.
